The Moody Eyes Comprehensive Eye Exam

Proper vision care begins with a comprehensive eye examination.
At Moody Eyes all of our patients receive a 14-point evaluation of
their eyes and visual system.

We perform a battery of preliminary tests.
These include a computerized measurement of your prescription
and the curvature of your eyes.
We also check your vision through your current prescription.
We evaluate your pupil responses, eye alignment, ocular muscle
function, and peform a visual field screening.

It is important to exam the cornea, conjunctiva, lids, lens, and
other anterior structures of your eyes with a slit lamp biomicroscope.
This is particularly important for contact lens patients, who have a
higher incidence of "front of the eye" complications.

We examine the interior of your eyes in several ways:
1. We take digital photographs of all of our patients. This gives us
a permanent record and baseline so we can track any changes
over time.
2. We look into your eyes with an instrument called an ophthalmoscope.
We recommend pupil dilation so we can get a better view.
Additional Eye Care We Provide

We thoroughly evaluate you cornea and recommend the appropriate
contact lenses for your prescription and lifestyle.
We prescribe the latest in contact lens technology for clear, crisp vision and
for the health of your eyes.

At Moody Eyes we have a full range of auxiliary tests and equipment,
including visual fields, digital retina imaging, retinal photography,
corneal thickness, and corneal curvature.
If you need additional testing we will schedule you back another day.
These auxiliary tests are often covered by your medical insurance plan.
A comprehensive eye examination involves much more than just reading the eye chart and checking your glasses prescription. At Moody Eyes we are committed to caring for your precious gift of sight with both quality eye care and quality optical materials.
We also diagnose and treat many eye conditions, including "pink eye", glaucoma, cataracts, scratched corneas, and contact lens over wear syndrome.
